Sheffield History lecture and walk

This week our Functional Skills English students were invited by the Department for Lifelong Learning at the University of Sheffield to a special lecture theatre experience and history walk. We learnt about migration to Sheffield and the use of different buildings in the past. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the trip to the cafe after too.

Trip to the Helena Kennedy Centre

Today members of our IELTS and Functional Skills classes went on a trip to the Helena Kennedy Centre at Sheffield Hallam University. We got to experience a MA/LLM class and had our own Human Rights lecture. We also got to meet the staff at the Refugee Rights Hub and learnt more about their work. Our day ended with a tour of the university where we visited the library, moot court and a lecture theatre. Everyone had a great time and also got the opportunity to share opinions, discuss and ask questions.

New classrooms

Over the past month we have had three of our classrooms redecorated by two amazing volunteers – thank you very much for all your hard work! We are looking forward to having face to face classes in them, here are two of them:
