Last week some of our Functional Skills students went on a tour of The University of Sheffield. We learnt more about progression routes and the history of the university. Thank you to The Department for Lifelong Learning, University of Sheffield for inviting us.
As part of UK Parliament Week we have been learning about Parliament and democracy. On Wednesday we welcomed Paul Blomfield, MP for Sheffield Central, to Learn for Life. Paul talked to our Entry 3, Level 1 and 2 English classes before going to Prime Minister’s Questions. Everyone really enjoyed the session and meeting Paul. He took the time to answer our questions and shared his views on current issues. #UKPW
Today Louise and student ambassador, Luke, from The Department for Lifelong Learning, University of Sheffield came to talk to our Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills classes about progressing onto University and the options available. It was really useful, helpful and informative! We are looking forward to our University tour very soon.
We had the honour of welcoming Little Amal to Sheffield as part of The Walk. It was wonderful to see so many people coming to meet her as she continues her journey from Syria to Manchester to be reunited with her mother. Amal had a proper Sheffield welcome!
