Good Things
A poem for the Good Things Foundation by Learn for Life
It’s not that often you can stand
At one end of a city and
See the other end with ease
Through towers, terrace blocks and trees
“I am a city picnicking, I am peaks escaping
Scraping the sky
I am home
I am home working, waking, weaving
I am that endlessly glistening Sheffield”
I feel in control, in charge
At a strategic height
You feel serene
Relief from pain and think of the good future with hope
I like the people,
She says, they’re respectful
And the view
I find
It is very very beautiful
In my heart I feel good
As I see Sheffield
With its buildings and woods.
Poetry writing at the amphitheatre
Today we visited the amphitheatre and did some poetry writing. We also had a little walk up to the Cholera monument! To take part in our outdoor ESOL activities join our facebook page or email info@learnforlifeenterprise.com
Weston Park Outing
Today we had a socially distanced walking quiz at Weston Park. We all split into small groups and enjoyed looking round the park, answering the questions and feeding the ducks and pigeons!
Enrolling for September 2020

Outdoor Activities
We had our first socially distanced outing this week with a customised walking quiz. Small groups of 2-4 people explored the Sheffield Botanical Gardens together maintaining social distancing. It was lovely to see both staff and students enjoying themselves. We hope to be able to organise similar activities outdoors during August and September. If you are a Learn for Life student who would like to come on an outing please send us an email to: info@learnforlifeenterprise.com and look out for updates on the Facebook and Whatsapp group.
Connectivity / Data
We are pleased to announce we have been provided with funding to help people with connectivity. This initiative is through Devices Dot Now and has been funded by Joseph Rowntree Foundation. If you or a friend needs help with internet connectivity / data please get in touch with us by sending an email to: info@learnforlifeenterprise.com
